Nara
was established in 710 as the second permanent capital of Japan.
Nara was the capital for 74 years, lending its name to the period
in Japanese history lasted from 710 to 794. It was designated
as UNESCO site in 1998. World Heritage in Nara comprises five
Buddhist temples, one Shinto shrine, Imperial Palace and primeval
forest.
